Assessments are modelled from your plans, so there is no site visit to schedule. We assess projects throughout Australia, other than NSW & ACT.

Submit your plans
Send your plans through our online form or by email. At minimum, we need a site plan showing the north point and boundary setbacks, floor plan/s, elevations and section/s. A window schedule and electrical layout are helpful but not required. We accept PDF and image files.

Receive your quote
Our team will review your project scope and provide a detailed quote within 48 hours, including an estimated timeframe for completion. Once the quote is accepted, we’ll ask you to complete and return the checklist for assessment.

Thermal performance assessment
Your accredited assessor runs a comprehensive thermal simulation using NatHERS-approved software, evaluating your building’s energy performance against NCC requirements. The assessor selects the most suitable NatHERS software for each job to achieve compliance.

Design optimisation, if required
If the design falls short, we’ll contact you with our best suggestions to achieve compliance, along with an estimate of the time and possible additional cost for any optimisation required.

Certificate and report delivery
Receive your NatHERS certificate and supporting documentation, formatted and ready for submission to your council or building certifier.

Anything left unspecified has to be assumed conservatively or set to a default value, which could reduce the final star rating result.

What is a NatHERS star rating?
A NatHERS star rating is an out-of-10 score that measures the thermal efficiency and energy performance of a residential building’s design in Australia. Councils and building certifiers require it for new homes and most alterations and additions before they will approve the build.
What do you need from me for a quote?
We require a set of plans, at minimum a site plan (with north point and boundary setbacks), floor plan/s, elevations and section/s. A window schedule and electrical layout are beneficial but not required. PDF and image files are both fine.
What happens if the design does not meet the minimum star rating?
We’ll contact you to discuss the most cost-effective alternatives to meet the minimum requirements.
Do you need to visit the site?
No, we can work with any jobs throughout Australia, other than NSW & ACT, without a site visit. We only need the plans and any documentation provided.
